Caring for the Community

Many people are aware of the charitable aspect of Freemasonsry. However, they often percieve it as either being solely “in-house” – caring for our own – or donations made through The Grand Charity to large national concerns.

Little is seen of the work done at local level by funds such as the Buckinghamshire Masonic Centenary Fund which donates thousands of Pounds each year to charities and good causes throughout the Province.

Individual Lodges also donate large sums to local charities, often chosen by the Worshipful Master of the year and known as his “List”. The money is raised by collections in the Lodge, raffles at the Festive Board and by members themselves organising social events such as barbecues.
