The Association enjoyed another bowling afternoon at Flackwell Heath on Thursday, 7th June.
With the help of 2 players provided by the home team, a match of 5 Rinks was played in a good temperate climate with a brief spell of a few drops of rain.
The BMBA got off to a good start and at half time were leading by 19 shots. However, it all changed after tea. BMBA managed to win on 2 rinks and draw on another but Flackwell Heath’s 2nd half rally provided them with a final score of 104 against the Association’s 93. Therefor a loss to us of 11 shots. The winner of the Charity competition was a lady from Flackwell heath who predicted a win for them by 10 shots.
The highest winning rink for the BMBA, by 9 shots, was : Laurie Ekins, Jean Vincent ( guest ), Bill Pipe and Alan Brindle, narrowly pipping Maggie Pipe, Brian Bristow, John Mansfield and Jim Lumsden who won by 8 shots.
As usual, Flackwell Heath made us most welcome and provided a lovely meal after the game. The green bowled very well and we look forward to returning there for our American Tournament on 17th August.
