Teddies for Loving Care

Started in 2001, this admirable Masonic charity is now in its 14th year, and to date, has distributed over 1 million Teddy bears to children’s A&E departments across the UK.

Not only do the teddy bears comfort and appease the children, they really do make the nursing staff’s job somewhat easier in appraising and befriending the often distraught kiddies. Not every child receives a teddy, but those that do, get to keep it and take it home.

Following a request for more teddy bears by the Paediatric unit of the Stoke Mandeville Hospital A&E department, W. Bro Graham Dearing, APGM, accompanied by W. Bro Mel Shah, Secretary Bucks Masonic TLC delivered 144 teddy bears (2 cartons) on the 22nd October 2015. The cost of providing these is £203.00. This is an ongoing project in the Province and we require about 5 cartons a month i.e. about £500.00 a month. Due to the generosity of the members in the Province, we are able to continue with this project.
