Tower of London Visit

Sixty-four Freemasons, partners and guests took part in the tour on the evening of Saturday, June 8th, where luckily Nobody was Beheaded or Hung Drawn and Quartered! but a fantastic amount of £2650 was raised for good causes.

The tour was conducted by W Bro Terry Briggs who is a Past Master of Iver Lodge and one of the current 37 Yeomans at the Tower.

After a very informative tour which included a detailed history of the Tower’s historical occupants and gory past, they were privileged to witness the Ceremony of the Keys which dates back more than 770 years.

The guests then retired to the “Keys” for refreshments.

This is the Yeomen’s private bar and they very kindly donated a number of raffle prizes which enabled £670 to be raised.

An additional £500 was added from the proceeds of the event and this was donated to the Yeoman’s Charity of choice, leaving a balance of £1480 which will be donated to the Bucks 2021 Festival.

Thanks to W Bro Pat Miller of Iver Lodge No. 5254 who arranged this private tour.
