The BMCF (Bucks Masonic Centenary Fund) were delighted to award MK Carers £330 to enable them to treat 30 adult carers to an afternoon tea at Dobbies Garden Centre in Bletchley.
Many of the Carers look after loved ones who are incapacitated and require round the clock care.
Being able to leave home even for a short time requires a lot of organisation.
The afternoon gave them a chance to catch up with other carers to have a light-hearted chat, tea and cakes.
APGM Phil Blacklaw, Andrew Hough (BMCF Secretary), Mike Clanfield (Bucks Charity Steward_ and John Waller (Bucks PCO) were invited to attend by Beth Sawyers. It was an enjoyable afternoon, with good company and well-deserved break for the carers.
One of the carers said ‘It was so nice to have some time away from my responsibilities and meet other carers who really understand. It is impossible to overestimate the benefits trips like this mean to carers so thank you to the Freemasons’
