All aboard the Chinnor Railway

On 15thApril a visit to the Chinnor and Princes Risborough Railway Line for a group of 30 children on the autistic spectrum between the ages of 6 and 15 with their parents and carers.

It was arranged by Sean Boardman and Andy Sutton of Hall Barn Lodge, Andy Barr of Frederick Lawson Lodge and Graham Thorn of Penn and Tylers Green Lodge who are members of the Beaconsfield Freemasonry in the Community Committee. The reserved carriage next to the engine was boarded by the steam train enthusiastic children, a lunch bag was distributed to each one and off they went on the journey to Princes Risborough and back.

W Bro Sean Boardman who arranged the visit and Sarah Snow the coordinator for the Engine Shed would like to thank Ray Gomm and all the helpful staff of the Chinnor railway for their help.

Mike Fincham of Cliveden Lodge, our driver for the day, allowed our own railway enthusiast Andy Barr to ride on the footplate for part of the trip “making his day”

After their obvious enjoyment and excitement, the children were allowed to explore the restored and preserved railway. The knowledge of these kids on railways is quite amazing.
