On Saturday 16th April Nelson Cork Lodge held its latest meeting at the Beaconsfield Masonic Centre.
Encouraged by 39 scruffy pirates there was a total of 18 Deckhands initiated into the brotherhood.
Formal proceedings concluded it was down to the galley for a fine meal of fish and chips obtained from the local “Inn of the Salt & Vinegar”.
A raffle was held, pieces of eight (prizes) distributed and yarns and tall tales recounted whilst the appropriate Mead and Ale was consumed.
The Pirates then slunk off into the night vowing to repeat the experience in the near future, if their wives would let them out!
The sole aim (apart from having a bit of fun) of Nelson Cork Lodge is to raise funds for local children’s charities and the shipmates once again proved their worthiness by donating £1,500 which will be shared out amongst eight nominated charities.
