Everglade Sheltered Housing Facelift

On a cool weekend in June members of St Giles 8555, from Bletchley and Secklow Hundred 9569 which meets in Stony Stratford undertook a Freemasonry in the Community project when they spent the weekend painting and cleaning the dining and social area of Everglade Sheltered Housing Scheme residence in Eaglestone, Milton Keynes.

Organised by John Wright and Gary Charnock the team worked tirelessly to give the room a huge facelift. The paint was donated by Lee Charnock and Angie Wright, wife of John, was there to ensure the workers were kept well fed and watered.

The Everglade is a council run sheltered housing scheme. Warden assisted, it has approximately 30 residents who have their own accommodation, as well as the communal social area which was the focus of the work by the freemasons.

Nine brethren representing both Lodges assisted John and Gary on the project, the Brethren that participated were:

W. Bros. John Wright, Brendan Aengenheister (Master of St Giles), Gary Charnock, Brian Francklin, Murray Waite, Graham Roach, Michael Perkins and Bros. Wayne Bentley, John Dodds, Javid Iqbal and John Waller.
