Stony Stratford Senior Citizens Lunch

Stony Stratford Masonic Centre hosted a Christmas lunch for 70 senior citizens on Friday 16th December. Members of Roman Way Lodge, 9533, were there to serve a traditional Christmas lunch and ensure their guests had a memorable day.

Bucks APGM Graham Dearing joined Steve Coventry, the Mayor, and Lianne Lacey, Lady Mayoress, of Milton Keynes for the festive fun.

The guests were treated to a wonderful lunch served by the members of the Centre during which they enjoyed Christmas carols sung by children from Emerson Valley School, led by their Music teacher Tina Gray Rampello.

Paul French, a member of Wineslai Lodge 2435, was on hand to 'croon' a few old songs and tell some Christmas jokes, which were well appreciated by the whole audience. Father Christmas, (aka John Petrie of Roman Way Lodge), also made a surprise visit with gifts for the children, who spent time chatting with the elderly visitors before returning to their school.

The children's' music teacher Tina Gray Rampello said: "The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and for many of them it was the first time they had sung to an audience. They were so pleased with their gifts and loved meeting Santa."

Mick Hull, of Roman Way lodge, added: "We've been holding this event for several years now and the feedback from our guests is so satisfying. It makes it all so worthwhile."
