The first meeting of the Bucks Masonic Golf Society, the Winter Cup, was held on 9thApril despite the wind, rain and mud at Three Locks Golf Club. A hardy number of members and guests turned out to support our new Captain Stan Green.
The competition for the Winter Cup was highly contested with only a couple of points between 1stand 3rdplace. However, Neill Elliott reigned supreme to win the competition and was presented with the Winter Cup by our Captain Stan Green. I am sure that Neill’s handicap will be adjusted to reflect his win.
On the 24thApril we had the annual Inter Province match against Bedfordshire which, after a defeat last year by 1 point, the team from Buckinghamshire really excelled themselves this year with a spectacular win beating Beds. By 65 points. A round of congratulations to the Captain Stan Green and the team for such a resounding win. As you can see from the photograph of Colin Bridge, Beds. Captain, handing over the cup to Stan, he was not a happy bunny. The Cup is back where it belongs.
Our next Inter Lodge competition at Wycombe Heights on 21stMay. This is open to Bucks. Masons and a member of their Masonic unit to partner them in the competition; it is open to all Degrees, not just Craft.
