After announcing the charities he wanted the lodge to support at the Heatherden Lodge installation in September 2017.
The new WM, Tarek Qutteineh said he would be completing various challenges to raise money for his list.
This culminated in his first (and last) triathlon on the morning of Heatherden’s May Meeting which has traditionally been their White Table. Being the all-round good egg that he is, Marc McLaughlin, a long time regular visitor, offered to have his hair cut.
He had been growing this for 8 years as those who have seen him around the province can testify to Marc contributed a share of any sponsorship he raised to Tarek’s list.
So after carrying out the final ceremony of his year, the brethren met wives and partners at Datchet Golf Club for their White Table event.
Marc fulfilled his promise by allowing Neil Ashby, the Heatherden DC to cut his hair out in the sunshine on the patio.
A total of over £500 has now been raised by Marc and will be split between a homeless charity that Marc supports and Tarek’s charities for the year. These are the Thames Valley Adventure Playground in Taplow and Alzheimer’s Society. That same day a further £500, with more promised, was raised by Tarek through his sprint triathlon at Eton Dorney.
