Following an excellent start to the season with our defeating Bedfordshire,
The members of the Golf Society played for the Founders Trophy at Weston Turville on June 25thwhich, at that time, was the hottest day of the year.
Despite the heat, Nigel Gough successfully wrested the Founder’s Trophy from the previous two times winner. Nigel took great pleasure in receiving the trophy from our Captain Stan Green. An excellent day’s golf was enjoyed by all, followed by a welcome cool drink and a pleasant meal in the newly renovated clubhouse at Weston Turville.
On 16thJuly we have the inaugural competition for the Derek Trice Trophy at Harleyford. This is a new competition which we are sure will be hotly competed for.
Derek, who was a great supporter of the Society, regrettably past to The Grand Lodge above 3 days after this meeting last year and we have created a new competition in his memory.
